JEE Main 31 August 2021, Shift 2, Physics Q5

Question 5 of 90 in this shift, Physics question 5 of 30, Section A.

Statement I : Two forces (P⃗+Q⃗)(\vec{P}+\vec{Q}) and (P⃗−Q⃗)(\vec{P}-\vec{Q}) where P⃗⊥Q⃗\vec{P}\perp\vec{Q}, when act at an angle θ1\theta_1 to each other, the magnitude of their resultant is 3(P2+Q2)\sqrt{3(P^2+Q^2)}, when they act at an angle θ2\theta_2, the magnitude of their resultant becomes 2(P2+Q2)\sqrt{2(P^2+Q^2)}. This is possible only when θ1<θ2\theta_1 < \theta_2. Statement II : In the situation given above. θ1=60∘\theta_1 = 60^\circ and θ2=90∘\theta_2 = 90^\circ In the light of the above statements, choose the most appropriate answer from the options given below :
  1. (1)Both Statement I and Statement II are true.Official answer
  2. (2)Both Statement I and Statement II are false.
  3. (3)Statement I is true but Statement II is false.
