JEE Main 31 August 2021, Shift 2, Physics Q3

Question 3 of 90 in this shift, Physics question 3 of 30, Section A.

Statement I : If three forces F1⃗\vec{F_1}, F2⃗\vec{F_2} and F3⃗\vec{F_3} are represented by three sides of a triangle and F1⃗+F2⃗=−F3⃗\vec{F_1}+\vec{F_2}=-\vec{F_3}, then these three forces are concurrent forces and satisfy the condition for equilibrium. Statement II : A triangle made up of three forces F1⃗\vec{F_1}, F2⃗\vec{F_2} and F3⃗\vec{F_3} as its sides taken in the same order, satisfy the condition for translatory equilibrium. In the light of the above statements, choose the most appropriate answer from the options given below :
  1. (1)Both Statement I and Statement II are true.Official answer
  2. (2)Both Statement I and Statement II are false.
  3. (3)Statement I is true but Statement II is false.
